Problems fixed before you notice

Remote Monitoring that gets ahead of problems.

Every machine we look after checks in with us continuously. Most faults get dealt with before anyone thinks to pick up the phone.

Most IT problems give warning before they become a crisis. A disk fills up. A backup quietly stops running. A machine starts running hot. An update fails three weeks in a row and nobody sees the message. The trouble is that nothing looks wrong until something stops working, usually at the least convenient moment.

Remote monitoring closes that gap. Every machine we look after reports its condition to us continuously, so the small problems get dealt with while they are still small.

What we watch

  • Disk space, memory and processor load
  • Hard drive health, and temperature where the hardware reports it
  • Windows, macOS and Linux updates
  • Antivirus and firewall status
  • Whether backups are actually completing, not merely scheduled
  • Whether a machine has stopped checking in at all

That last one matters more than it sounds. A machine that has gone quiet is often the first sign of a failed drive or a power supply on its way out.

What happens when something is wrong

The alert comes to us, not to you. We look at it, and in most cases we fix it remotely the same day — clearing space, re-running a failed update, restarting a service that has hung, chasing a backup that did not finish.

You hear from us when there is something you actually need to decide: a drive that wants replacing, a machine that has reached the end of its useful life, a pattern that suggests a bigger problem. Everything else is just dealt with.

Most of the work is invisible. That is rather the point.

The tooling behind it

We run Atera, a remote monitoring and management platform used by IT providers and in-house IT teams. It gives us one place to see every machine we look after, push updates, run fixes, and connect to a desktop when we need to.

Two things about it are worth knowing.

It is licensed per engineer rather than per device. Watching more of your machines does not cost us more, which means we never have to be selective about what gets monitored — everything goes on, including the machines nobody thinks about until they fail.

And the agent it installs is a small background service. It does not need anyone to log into anything, and it does not slow the machine down.

What monitoring is not

It is worth being clear about this, because “we can see your computers” makes people uneasy, and it should.

We can see how a machine is doing — disk space, update status, whether it is switched on, which account is logged in, what hardware and software are installed. We cannot see documents, emails, messages or browsing. Health and inventory, not content.

Remote sessions are a separate thing from monitoring, and they are logged.

How to get it

Monitoring is not an add-on or an upgrade. It is part of every support plan we run, and it is the reason we can usually fix things before you ring us.

If you would like to know what a plan would cost for your setup, get in touch and tell us roughly how many machines you have. We will give you a straight number.

What's included

Everything you need, nothing you don't.

Continuous checks

that gets ahead of problems.

Patching, handled

Windows, macOS, Linux and the common third-party applications, updated on a schedule that suits you.

Alerts come to us

When something goes wrong the alert reaches us first. You usually find out once it is already sorted.

Fixes without a visit

Most faults are cleared remotely. No waiting in for an engineer, no travel time on the invoice.

A real inventory

Every machine, its age, its specification and what is installed on it. Genuinely useful when it is time to budget.
